There was a "Former student with a gun" Had faught another student. The teachers is lacking skills. The students are rude to staff and other students.

So many families left this school due to admin, poor communication, little concern for student mental and socio-emotional health, lack of resources, frustration, etc. School focused on testing and grades and will not assist struggling students—kept blaming the students and parents. Administration incredibly difficult to work with. So much happier once we left. Transfer school immediately jumped on evaluation and intervention services and were able to make huge academic progress elsewhere in a short amount of time.

Asked around about the school and every single parent I talked to gave a bad review. While touring I felt they introduce 100 things at kinder level which is not needed but instead could have a strong curriculum for the fee they charge doesn’t seem to be worth it. Not sure if the teachers are qualified enough too.

Great program and very dedicated teachers. Small student/ teacher ratio. Lots of activities. I know my kids are getting a great education.

This is a very dangerous school. A student advised me that is it normal for students to bring guns to school here daily. The security cameras outside do not work. Do not allow you child to attend.

Do not recommend this school. Please do your research before enrolling.

This is not an educational environment. Students are not interested in learning, there are behavior problems aplenty that make it impossible to teach effectively, the admin is ineffectual, but everyone talks a good game. Parents of problem students are uninvolved. Do not send your children there if you want them to learn anything.

My son attends this school and it has been the WORST 2 years of his education. The SPED (special education) department is awful and not helpful in any way. The teachers hand out “cares” like they are winning lottery. Assistant principal's need a reality check not sure how or why they choose this as a profession. Two extremely difficult women who are RUDE and VERY unprofessional!

Please take heed of this review as the older more positive reviews are old and likely out of date. We have 4 children. After our experience at Flat Rock none of them will attend this school. Our 6th year old gifted child encountered a toxic environment via a 6th grade wide chat that included racism, debauchery, threats, and insults. Members of the chat constantly demanded that members get on voice chat in the evening. We detected it when our son withdrew from family life to talk on the phone and started failing his classes. His teacher said that they had never seen issues like this in 6th grade and it was a widespread problem. In addition the school has a 1 million word reading requirement where students must pass a test on each book to get credit. This has been a great source of frustration for my son. We have spent hours on re-reading chapters, finding study guides, and sample tests for various books. It has become an albatross that adversely affected his interest in reading and created a sense of futility in his learning. We regret sending our child to this school and will not make the mistake with others,

I was just a little boy just like you intel the gangs give a pow to the knee and then I had a hard time with the lawsuit and I could not afford surgery an and I got infected lucky I caught it early an I recovered but I heard that they still have gang related problems to this very day

Great facility, wonderful staff and an environment where all children, including children with special needs , can grow , mature and thrive . In my opinion, a top notch elementary school and one I would recommend to anyone.

Beware. Orion International Academy does not help kids learn. International student live in the back with inadequate supervision and the school profits from this. Students are losing their education for money. Sad.

Hi! I’m graduating soon and I DO NOT recommend your child to go to this school! Yes it may be clean, and a “ good rated school “ the children are spoiled here, and bullies with no respect. the lunch is also very expensive for just nothing and a small amount of food, fights go on everyday and when students speak out on teachers they never take it into consideration.
